about
For your consideration; Joseph Francis Howe.
This song is an attempt to write a letter to a man who has passed from this life. A man who throughout his tenure on Earth curated a hostile environment tantamount to Hell for those he lived with.
He abused my family physically, emotionally, and sexually. I can recall being held up by my throat and slammed against a wall for daring to try and stop him from accosting my mother. There were times when he would try and convince me to fight him just so he could have an excuse to beat up a 14 year old boy whom he called “faggot”, “Nancy”, “weak”, or whatever was on his mind that day.
There is never a justification for domestic violence and we're here to say that not even death can save you from reprisal.
So, here is my letter to you, Papa. I hope you like it.
